Description
One of the most impressive things a winemaker can do is showcase the unique aspects of a vineyard in a bottle of wine. These winemakers highlight the entire environment: peach trees, beehives, citrus groves or any number of things can impart nuances that can’t be recreated elsewhere. The Butler & Thief 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon was made with grapes sourced from vineyards along the coastline of Central California, and the seaside vineyards produced grapes with a medium body and very clean fruit flavors. We think that it’s best when paired with a pork tenderloin stuffed with herbs to bring out the secondary, savory notes in the wine alongside the dominant blackberry and mocha flavors. Our experts did a great job sourcing this one—it took home 94 Points and a Gold medal at the 2018 International Women’s Wine Competition, and a Silver medal at the 2018 Critics Challenge International Wine and Spirits Competition and at the 2018 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge!
