Colonel E.H. Taylor 18 Year Marriage is a 100 proof (50% ABV) limited-release produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. Released in June 2020, this one-time bottling is a unique “marriage” of three distinct Buffalo Trace mash bills: Rye Bourbon #1 (low-rye), Rye Bourbon #2 (higher-rye), and their Wheated Bourbon mash bill. Barrels were filled in 2002 and aged for a minimum of 18 years in federally bonded, century-old warehouses.
Technical maturation in diverse oak stocks results in a profile of vanilla butter cake on the nose, with a rich palate of caramel, cinnamon, and toasted oak, followed by a long finish featuring a hint of spearmint.
