Colonel E.H. Taylor Single Barrel is a 100 proof (50% ABV) Bottled in Bond bourbon produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. This expression is crafted using Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1, a low-rye recipe estimated at less than 10% rye. While non-age-stated (NAS), individual barrels are hand-selected for peak maturity, with some merchant bottlings documented at over 11 years.
Maturation occurs in historic warehouses built by Taylor, predominantly the 1881-constructed Warehouse C, known for its dry conditions and tight ricks. The technical profile is defined by lightly toasted oak, dried figs, and butterscotch on the nose, leading to a palate of honey, vanilla, and dark tobacco spice with a long, dry finish.
