Description
Colonel E.H. Taylor Tornado Surviving is a 100 proof (50% ABV) limited-release allocation representing a unique “act of God” in Buffalo Trace’s maturation history. Released in 2012, this bourbon was famously aged in barrels that survived a 2006 tornado that devastated Warehouse C, exposing the liquid to direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations.
This environmental anomaly accelerated the wood interaction, resulting in a monumental structural integrity defined by jammy dark fruit, rare pipe tobacco, and seasoned oak. As a Bottled-in-Bond release, the palate features concentrated layers of caramelized sugar and dark chocolate, leading to a long, resonating finish of creamy vanilla. This 750ml allocated spirit is a primary “holy grail” for elite collectors tracking the most storied and unrepeatable chapters of the E.H. Taylor vertical.
