Description
Critics adore this as much as we do—the wine received 93 points and a Gold Medal from the 2020 Sommelier Choice Awards! Spain’s environment is near idyllic for winegrowing—bright sunny days and cool evenings allow fruit to fully ripen while maintaining natural acidity. Our winemaking partners who crafted this beautiful Tempranillo purposely plant their vineyards close to the ocean as the breezy winds that come off the water help fruit develop incredibly concentrated flavors. The 2019 growing year was a bit drier than usual and resulted in a higher yield of fruit during harvest with intense color and high alcohol levels. Winemakers chose to keep many clusters as whole berries rather than to crush them immediately. The result is a rich and textural wine with bold dark fruit flavors, signature Tempranillo spiciness, and smooth, round tannins that linger on the palate.
