Description
Deux Punx Old Vine Zinfandel comes from the historic Del Barba Vineyard in Contra Costa County, where head-trained vines planted in the 1800s remain dry-farmed and un-pruned. Winemakers Dan Schaaf and Aaron Olson—the punk rock duo behind Deux Punx since 2008—ferment whole clusters with native yeasts for approximately two weeks before aging 13-14 months in neutral oak. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal sulfur, this 13.5% ABV Zinfandel reflects their hands-off philosophy. Deux Punx operates from a shared warehouse in Napa’s River East neighborhood, prioritizing vineyard expression over winemaker intervention.
