Description
Domaine de l’Octavin Le Roi des Cépages is a skin-macerated Riesling sourced from Philippe Brand’s organic vineyards in Ergersheim, Alsace. The grapes, grown on clay-limestone soils, undergo a 15-day to 8-week whole-cluster maceration with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in stainless steel tanks without fining, filtration, or added sulphur. Though Domaine de l’Octavin is based in Jura, winemaker Alice Bouvot crafts this négociant wine using Alsatian grapes, blending regional typicity with her minimalist philosophy. The result is a textured orange wine balancing Alsace’s citrus intensity with Jura’s structural precision.
