Description
Domaine Matassa Cuvée Romanissa is crafted by Tom Lubbe from 100% Lledoner Pelut, a rare Catalan mutation of Grenache known as “hairy Grenache” for its downy leaves. The grapes come from 80-130 year-old vines grown on iron-rich red schist soils in the Romanissa vineyard. Whole-cluster fermentation employs a four-day maceration in fiberglass tanks, followed by pressing and nine months aging in demi-muid barrels. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered with no added sulfites at 11% alcohol.
