Description
Domaine Matassa Planals is a natural red wine from the Roussillon village of Calce, crafted by South African-born winemaker Tom Lubbe. This cuvée blends Grenache Noir with Grenache Gris from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards planted on the plains surrounding the estate. Hand-harvested grapes arrive in 500 kg bins, where whole clusters are foot-stomped to begin a gentle 5-day infusion-style maceration—no pumping over, no punch-downs. After soft pressing, Matassa Planals ages seven months in concrete tanks before bottling without fining, filtration, or added sulfites.
