Description
Domaine Roland Schmitt Pinot Blanc is made from Pinot Blanc grapes grown in Bergbieten, northern Alsace. The estate, managed by brothers Julien and Bruno Schmitt, farms 10 hectares organically since 1999 and is converting to biodynamic practices. Vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils with marl and gypsum fragments that provide excellent drainage and mineral complexity. Winemaking involves hand-harvesting, traditional fermentation in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts, and minimal intervention with low sulfite levels to preserve freshness and natural expression.
