The founders established their firm P & H Egan Ltd. on Bridge Street in the heart of Tullamore. They engaged in wholeselling, bottling, malting and brewing activities. Egans were bottling Jameson & Paddy Whiskeys in the 1940s. The firm went into voluntary liquidation in 1968. Jonathan Egan and John Ralph of the 5th and 6th generation of the Egan family revived the company P.&H. Egan.
