Description
Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Branella 2021 comes from a 2-hectare parcel acquired in 1981, though the pergola-trained vines date to 1966. The Branella vineyard sits 300 meters from the estate in Torano Nuovo, with deep sandy soils, blue clay marls, and limestone lenses that distinguish it from the estate’s other holdings. Emidio Pepe farms biodynamically (certified since 2006), hand-destemming grapes onto a net before whole-berry spontaneous fermentation in concrete tanks. Emidio Pepe Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Branella 2021 ages entirely in cement—never oak—and bottles unfiltered.
