Description

Espaldera continues to prove themselves as the masters of the vine. Our Syrah is concentrated, savory, and true to its old-vine styling with dense dark berry notes and enticing earthiness. These grapes come from 30-year-old vines grown at 2,700 feet in elevation. Guided by the understanding that great wine begins in the vineyard, our Spanish winemaking partners employ eco-friendly viticultural techniques and maintain a harmonious balance with nature. At harvest time, vineyard crews handpick the grapes during the cool night hours. The fruit then ferments in stainless steel tanks to preserve Syrah’s varietal freshness before oak influence brings out its complex secondary characteristics and enhances spice. As expected with every release from Espaldera, this wine combines the care of a vineyard manager and winemaker, both guided by Spanish winemaking tradition.
