Description
Founder’s Fortune, a brand already responsible for numerous multi-award-winning wines, now shares another discovery for our senses to explore. In this wine, the ancient grape Zinfandel teams up with a rare treasure, Petite Sirah. Together they create a blend that is sure to delight big red lovers everywhere. Native to Croatia, Zinfandel is considered to be one of the oldest grape varieties in the world, with evidence of its wines dating to 6000 BCE. Its blend partner, Petite Sirah, was first discovered in France in the mid-1800s. While it is a popular grape, Petite Sirah is quite rare. Globally, plantings are still quite low, with a large percentage of the varietal growing in California. Much like the first settlers, when these grape varieties arrived in California, they began to thrive in their new home. The state’s warm climate and rocky, well-drained soils allow these hearty, black grapes to develop their powerful fruit flavors, which locals have loved since the oldest plantings.
