Description
Frank Cornelissen Pistemutta Rosso is a natural red wine from the northern valley of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. Crafted from 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes sourced from the Contrada Feudo di Mezzo vineyard, the vines thrive in mineral volcanic soils, contributing to the wine’s distinctive character. The grapes undergo destemming and light crushing, followed by spontaneous fermentation initiated with a “pied-de-cuve.” The must remains on the skins for five days, resulting in a light-bodied, fluid, and elegant wine. Aging occurs in neutral epoxy tanks ranging from 2,500 to 8,000 liters, preserving the wine’s freshness and purity. Bottling is done with minimal filtration using 5-micron polyethylene cartridges, and sulfur levels vary between 15 to 60 mg/l.
