Description
Frédéric Cossard’s 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir originates from the esteemed Gevrey-Chambertin appellation in Burgundy, France. The vineyards, featuring 40-year-old vines, are cultivated using organic and biodynamic practices, emphasizing the unique terroir characterized by limestone and marl soils. Cossard employs minimal-intervention winemaking techniques: the hand-harvested Pinot Noir grapes undergo whole-bunch fermentation over approximately two weeks, followed by pressing into Georgian qvevris—traditional clay vessels—for a year of élevage. This method enhances the wine’s vibrancy and purity. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration, and no sulfites are added.
