Description
Gabrio Bini Fanino Catarratto e Pignatello is a natural red wine from Pantelleria, Sicily, blending approximately equal parts of white Catarratto and red Pignatello grapes from 40-year-old vines. Grown biodynamically on volcanic soils at high altitude, the hand-harvested grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in buried terracotta amphorae. The wine macerates on skins for seven months before bottling unfiltered and unfined, with no added sulfites. The island’s volcanic terroir and ocean breezes contribute to the wine’s distinctive mineral character and natural freshness despite the Mediterranean heat.
