Description
Giulia Negri Barolo La Tartufaia originates from vineyards in La Morra, within the Barolo area of Piedmont, Italy. The vineyards are situated at altitudes of 460 meters, featuring west-facing slopes with Tortonian soils rich in sand and clay. These conditions provide an ideal terroir for cultivating Nebbiolo grapes, the sole varietal used in this wine. This vintage experienced favorable weather, leading to optimal ripening. Grapes are hand-harvested to ensure quality. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in 60-hectoliter truncated cone-shaped wooden vats, with a maceration period of approximately 40 days. The wine is then aged 24 months in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, allowing it to develop complexity and harmonize its flavors.
