The trendy term “orange wine” is simply a skin-contact white wine, meaning it has been fermented or briefly aged on its grape skins to gather texture, flavor, and color. After harvest, the Albariño grapes are pressed, and rather than separating the juice from the skins, they are left to mingle for seven days. After the wine is fermented at cool temperatures, it rests in contact with its sediment or “lees” for four months, revealing rich textures and an enchanting amber hue.
