Grifalco Gricos is a beautiful red wine from Grifalco Winery in the Vulture region of Basilicata, southern Italy. Made from 100% Aglianico grapes, it represents the region’s potential for crafting complex, structured red wines. The vineyards, situated at altitudes of 450-550 meters, benefit from volcanic soils that impart a distinct minerality to the wine. The wine is aged in a mix of French and American oak barrels for 6-12 months, contributing to its subtle complexity and smooth finish.
Gricos is known for its deep ruby color and vibrant aromas of red fruits, such as cherry and pomegranate, complemented by hints of pepper and graphite.
