Description
Guido Porro Barbera d’Alba DOC is crafted from 100% Barbera grapes grown in the Vigna Santa Caterina vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba, Piedmont. The one-hectare vineyard sits at 400 meters elevation with western exposure on calcareous clay soils. Vines average 25-30 years old and are cultivated without synthetic additives. Traditional fermentation occurs in glass-lined concrete vats with indigenous yeasts for 7-8 days of skin contact with daily pump-overs. The wine ages 4-6 months in wooden barrels followed by stainless steel maturation, achieving 14% alcohol and balanced structure typical of premium Barbera d’Alba.
