About This Wine
The J. Lohr October Night Chardonnay vineyards are located in the Block 9 plantings of the Arroyo Seco AVA in Monterey County, near the Arroyo Seco River’s mouth, offering a somewhat sheltered environment from the wind. Predominantly featuring the Dijon Clone 809 Chardonnay, also known as the Musqué Clone, these vines impart a distinctive floral aroma. The loamy soil, enriched with “Greenfield potatoes”—potato-sized stones that absorb and radiate heat—enhances the wine’s floral intensity and richness. This Chardonnay blend delivers a complex balance of ripe orange, orange marmalade, and white peach flavors, complemented by a full mid-palate and a subtle toasted oak finish. It is Certified California Sustainable.
