Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Tasters Selection No. 004 Barrel Proof Straight Tennessee Rye is a highly concentrated, limited-edition experimental allocation released in 2019. Selected by Master Taster Michael Myers, this expression served as a small-batch proof of concept for what would eventually become the highly successful 2020 Special Release Barrel Proof Rye. The liquid is distilled from the brand’s proprietary 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley grain bill and underwent traditional charcoal mellowing before maturation.

These specific barrels were aged at the uppermost levels of barrel house #1-05, accelerating evaporation loss and flavor concentration. Bottled uncut and unfiltered at 127.6 proof, the technical profile delivers an ultra-viscous structural framework defined by dense layers of maraschino cherry syrup, molasses, and bold baking spices, balanced by a heavy, char-kissed oak finish.
