Description
Madelon represents Jean-François Ganevat’s innovative négociant approach, blending terroirs to create distinctive character-driven wines. Composed of 60-75% Gamay sourced from prestigious Beaujolais crus including Morgon and Fleurie, complemented by indigenous Jura varieties Trousseau and Enfariné from 40-70 year old organically farmed vines. The wine undergoes semi-carbonic maceration using traditional truncated conical vats at controlled temperatures (12-14°C) with indigenous yeasts. After 10 months aging in large foudres that have housed multiple wines, Madelon is bottled without fining, filtration, or sulfur additions. This natural vinification philosophy preserves authentic fruit expression while showcasing the marriage between Beaujolais elegance and Jura rusticity.
