Description

Chenin Blanc from the Anjou region forms the foundation of Jean-Pierre Robinot L’Opéra des Vins Lumière de Silex 2023. The grapes come from organically farmed old vines planted on schist soils—hence the name “Silex,” referencing the flinty minerality these soils impart. Jean-Pierre Robinot L’Opéra des Vins sources this fruit from neighboring vignerons, then vinifies it in his limestone caves at Chahaignes. Spontaneous fermentation proceeds with indigenous yeasts before the wine rests on lees in old oak barrels for approximately two years. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, without added sulfites.
