This exceptional wine is part of our Fine Wine Collection.
Winemaking Winemakers co-ferment equal parts Cinsault and Grenache Noir to capture a pure expression of Piekenierskloof’s Mediterranean-like terroir. Cooler-climate fruit lends brightness and lifted aromatics, while careful extraction preserves the delicate structure and soft tannins. A restrained use of oak introduces integrated spice notes, complementing the natural herbal thread of thyme, rosemary, and wild fynbos. Each step in the process is guided by balance—freshness meets depth, elegance aligns with intensity.
Vintage The 2024 vintage in Piekenierskloof was shaped by a long, temperate growing season, where weather patterns allowed for development of both Cinsault and Grenache Noir. Spring arrived early and dry, encouraging flowering and uniform fruit set across the dryland vineyards. A cooler-than-average January provided the vines a chance to rest, preserving acidity while setting the stage for nuanced ripening. Harvested in the first week of March, the fruit reflects a season of balance, where climate and timing aligned to create vintage of clarity and composure.
Pairing Logic This elegant Cinsault-Grenache blend is a companion for dishes featuring warm spices and savory herbs—try it with cinnamon-spiced lamb tagine, rosemary pork loin, or grilled portobello mushrooms. Its vivid cherry and cranberry brightness shines with tangy reductions or caramelized onions. Violet and garrigue notes sing alongside Mediterranean staples like ratatouille or herbed flatbreads. A touch of oak-driven spice and a refined structure make it a delight with aged cheeses, spiced lentil stews, or charred vegetables.
