Description
Muscat and Vermentinu
Since its creation in 1872 by Louis-Napoléon Mattei, Cap Corse Mattei is the oldest and best known aperitif of Corsica. Still today family owned, and all macerations, aging and bottling are done in house. Aromatic wines from Muscat and Vermentinu are infused with various plants, fruits and spices including bitter chinchona (quinquina) bark and local cedrat (citron). It is then fortified with neutral spirit to halt fermentation and retain natural grape sugars, meaning there are no sweeteners or sugar added.
Herby aromas with floral honeysuckle and elderflower. Quinine bitterness grows gradually on the palate, rich grape juice offsets complex herbs along with zesty lemon, white pepper, and lemongrass. 17% ABV
