Larceny Barrel Proof Batch 17 (B525) 6-8 Year is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon from Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. This 2025 release is the second batch of the line’s sixth year and comes in at just 117.4 proof – the second-lowest proof in Larceny Barrel Proof history, behind only Batch 4’s 114.8 record. The batch is bottled uncut and non chill-filtered at 117.4 proof.
Larceny Barrel Proof is Heaven Hill’s wheated barrel-proof bourbon – non-chill-filtered and bottled at full barrel strength, drawn from barrels aged six to eight years on Heaven Hill’s proprietary wheated mash bill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, and 12% malted barley. The Larceny line is the modern heir to Heaven Hill’s historic wheated recipe, known internally as O.F.D. (Old Fitzgerald Distillate) for John E. Fitzgerald’s Old Fitzgerald brand that Pappy Van Winkle owned before Heaven Hill took it over. Larceny Barrel Proof launched in January 2020 and is released three times per year in January, May, and September.
Heaven Hill’s published line profile across the series shows dark sepia color, a nose of toasted bread with maple and cinnamon, a palate of rich molasses coating the tongue with notes of fig and hazelnut, and a finish where the nuanced flavor fades into lingering warmth. Whisky Advocate Executive Editor David Fleming praised the line as one that “floats across the palate with stunning grace and subtlety, its wheated mashbill a delicate counterpoint to its formidable proof.”
