Description
Le Batossay Marie Rose Grolleau Gris is made from Grolleau Gris grapes grown in a vineyard with clayey-loam and limestone soil biodynamically farmed by Baptiste Cousin. The vines were planted in 1992. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a 10-day whole bunch maceration before being pressed into a mix of old barrels and tanks. Here, they undergo spontaneous fermentation and are left to age for several months. This wine is made without fining, filtering, or the addition of sulfur. It’s a vibrant rosé/light red wine, notable for its freshness, purity of fruit, and a hint of tannins and savoriness that adds an almost electric quality to the palate.
