Description
The Valle Central in Chile is one of the largest producing regions in the Southern Hemisphere. Stretching 250 miles north to south down the middle of the country, the appellation experiences a classic continental climate with maritime influences, thanks to the nearby Pacific Ocean. Our winemaking partners have been growing wine in the region for over 30 years and primarily work with young vines. The grainy soils hold water deep in the ground, which forces grapes to work a bit harder than usual to find nutrients but creates incredible flavors in the final wines. Our latest vintage of Literaria ’42 Sauvignon Blanc hails from vines that saw a stellar season. Fruit ripened slowly under skies that saw little rain, which resulted in beautifully concentrated aromatics. This wine is austere and lean, with dazzling fruit-forward flavors and a fresh mouthfeel.
