Description
“In a wine competition, where the entries are tasted blind, this gives you pause. Isn’t this what Cabernet Sauvignon is all about, a nobility calm, confident, and assured in its power and grace.” – Mike Dunne, 2020 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition. We are thrilled to announce that our winemakers have earned us 94 points and a Platinum medal from the 2020 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition for not only our Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon, but also our Napa Valley expression of Longitude 120 West. 100 point wines are rare, this young AVA at the bottom of the state of Washington has produced three in the last twenty years. That’s incredible, and we couldn’t be happier to feature a Horse Heaven Hills wine and strive for the same “perfection” as we continue to work with wine from this dynamic AVA in Washington. The vineyards in the area benefit from strong winds that arrive from the west and have been channeled through the Columbia Gorge. With bone dry heat and extended sun exposure, this wine tastes powerful and concentrated. Since it’s made in an Old World style, we would suggest thinking about Old World pairings to accompany the wine. Try it with steak, game meats, and slow-braised stews.
