Description
Lucas Madonia’s The Litre Chasselas is a natural white wine from the Valais region of Switzerland, crafted exclusively from Chasselas grapes. The vineyards are situated in and around Ayent, at elevations between 600 and 820 meters, featuring diverse soils composed mainly of schist and limestone, with loess, quartz, and clay. Madonia employs organic farming practices, utilizing manual methods due to the terraced landscape that prohibits mechanization. The grapes are hand-harvested, pressed on the day of harvest, and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged in 400-liter barrels and bottled in August without filtration or added sulfites.
