Luxana 2016 Red Wine North Coast, California

The Luxana Red is a showstopper. When it came into our hands we were thrilled because it’s from a great wine region of California (the North Coast) and from a great vintage. 2016 was slightly cooler than average and had cold nights—perfect for inky dark, complex wines. With fruit notes of blackberry, black cherry, and even mulberry mingling with rosemary, tobacco, and olives, this is a wine that gets better with every sip. We think that the complexity won’t be overwhelmed by fuller-bodied dishes like steak au poivre, roasted pork, or even a deep ragu. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal from the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and at the 2019 Sommelier Challenge.
