This Highland Single Malt undergoes a complex maturation process involving a “triple threat” of wood: European sherry-seasoned oak casks, American sherry-seasoned oak casks, and American ex-bourbon barrels. This specific wood management strategy is designed to deliver a more vibrant, light-bodied profile compared to the distillery’s traditional Sherry Oak line.
Over 18 years of maturation in Speyside’s temperate climate, the spirit pulls delicate citrus and vanilla notes from the American oak while maintaining the structural dried fruit and wood spice foundation of the European oak. The final result is a refined, multi-dimensional spirit that emphasizes balance and exotic fruit esters.
