Our Garnacha from Merce Carme is varietally true with bright red fruit flavors and lingering spice. Although most wine lovers may associate this popular variety with France, where it goes by “Grenache,” Garnacha is indigenous to northern Spain. As one of the world’s top ten most widely planted varieties, this juicy red grape is exceptionally adaptable and produces many different styles of wine. Our Spanish winemaking partners have more than 50 years of experience creating genuine expressions of authentic Spanish wines like this Garnacha. The region’s limestone and clay soils retain moisture during hot summers allowing the vines to stay hydrated with just the right amount of nutrients to develop plump, ripe grapes. These growing conditions, combined with temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel vessels, allow Garnacha to showcase its pure varietal character. Salud!
