Domaine Meyer-Fonné was founded in the late 1800s by Felix Meyer and is still run today by his great grandson, also named Felix, with holdings now covering 18 hectares across seven communes including Katzenthal, Ammerschwihr, Ingersheim, Riquewihr, Kientzheim, Colmar and Grand Cru Gewurztraminer comes from theWineck-Schlossberg, a south-facing terroir of strongly weathered two-mica granite known as “de Turckheim”in the village of Domaine has always been farmed organically and Felix likes to play around with a few biodynamic techniques, preferring large, older foudres (wooden barrels) in conjunction with stainless steel vats for the more aromatic estate obtained organic certification in 2021.
