The 2022 O’Shaughnessy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a powerhouse of high-altitude intensity, trading the appellation’s typical structural austerity for a more opulent, sun-drenched profile born of a warm vintage. It opens with an inky, concentrated bouquet of crème de cassis and wild mountain blueberry, underpinned by sophisticated notes of crushed slate, graphite, and dried sage that anchor it firmly in its volcanic terroir. On the palate, the wine is remarkably plush for a mountain Cabernet; while the tannins are undeniably dense, they possess a velvety integration that frames flavors of black plum, mocha, and cedar.
