Description
Old Forester 150th Anniversary (Batch 2) is a 126.4 Proof (63.2% ABV) straight bourbon produced at the Old Forester Distilling Co. (Brown-Forman). This 2020 release utilizes the signature 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley mash bill. The liquid matured in Brown-Forman’s Shively heat-cycled rackhouses, where controlled temperature fluctuations increased the extraction of wood sugars and tannins.
While Batch 1 was curated for a fruit-forward profile, Batch 2 was blended from 43 barrels hand-selected by Master Distiller Chris Morris to highlight “sweet and spicy” characteristics. This results in a concentrated profile of cherry cobbler, maple syrup, and intense baking spices, bottled unfiltered at a robust batch strength.
