With 50 percent Merlot and 45 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, our 2019 Open Secret Red Blend initially appears to be a common merger of well-known grape varieties. That’s where local know-how steps in to make this wine truly unique. The addition of five percent Carménère contributes a new level of complexity to an already stunning flavor profile. This regional favorite is often considered Chile’s signature grape variety and is the key behind our blend’s balance of rich, dark fruit flavors and refreshing herbal characteristics. This duet of sweet and savory makes it easy to see why these three grapes make up most of the blends produced in Chile.
