Description
Penelope Architects of Golf Hole 1 6 Year is a Straight Bourbon from Penelope Bourbon, sourced and blended in Indiana. This 2026 limited release is the opening expression in the three-bottle Architects of Golf series, finished in American oak staves with the lightest stave influence of the trio for an approachable, gently spiced introduction.
Penelope Bourbon is the bourbon line founded in 2018 by Mike Paladini and Danny Polise, named after Paladini’s daughter Penelope. The brand was acquired by MGP Ingredients/Luxco in 2023, with sourcing and blending overseen by cofounder and Master Blender Danny Polise. Penelope’s lineup spans the Core Series, Cooper Series (cask-finished), Limited Releases, and Estate Collection tiers.
The Architects of Golf collection is a May 2026 limited-release Penelope series that nods to the founders’ origin story – two friends sketching what would become Penelope across an 18-hole round. All three Hole expressions start from the same 6 Year Straight Bourbon base with a 60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley mash bill, then vary in stave-finishing intensity and duration, giving the trio a progression from approachable to bold across the round.
On the nose, Hole 1 shows gentle vanilla and light toasted oak. The palate brings subtle baking spice with balanced warmth, and the finish carries soft fruit with a smooth, easygoing close.
Hole 1 is the easygoing first pour of the Architects of Golf round – the lightest stave treatment of the three, framed as the approachable opener. It drinks well neat or over a single large cube.
