Pierre Frick Pinot Noir Rot Murlé 2022 is a single-vineyard red from one of Alsace’s most distinctive lieu-dit sites. Domaine Pierre Frick farms 100% Pinot Noir on the Rot Murlé hillside, where iron-rich ferruginous calcareous soils over hard limestone bedrock give the vineyard its name (“Rot” meaning red in German). The whole clusters macerate and ferment with indigenous yeasts for 10 days without destemming, then age seven months in traditional oak foudres. Pierre Frick Pinot Noir Rot Murlé 2022 is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and without any added sulfites.
