Description

First cultivated in the late 1700’s by Franciscan monks, Santa Barbara is one of the oldest wine-producing regions in America. But, in large part due to prohibition era regulations, it wasn’t until the 1960’s that the region’s potential for producing fine wines was fully realized. Thanks to a climate that combines warm days and cool nights, Santa Barbara’s vineyards produce intensely flavorful grapes that make its Pinot Noirs a favorite of wine drinkers around the world. Just a taste of the Prima Vista 2013 will show you that the reputation is well deserved. This wine is medium-bodied and moderately acidic. On the nose, there are strong notes of cranberry and strawberry, with a hint of smoked ham. These follow onto the palate, with further smoky and pepper flavors from barrel-aging in oak casks. An excellent wine for accompanying meals, the Prima Vista 2013 puts the richness and intensity of the region’s finest wines on display.
