Description
Our Primêre Blaar Pinotage shows off South Africa’s heritage grape with a delicious array of ripe berry flavors combined with oaky and earthy characteristics. Created in 1925 by Abraham Izak Perold, Pinotage is a crossing of Pinot Noir and Cinsault grapes. This unique variety thrives in the vineyards of Swartland. Historically, this area was a wheat-growing region before making a name for itself as a source of serious South African wines. Its rugged terrain and dry climate mean vines push their roots deep into the earth to find water and nutrients, resulting in concentrated fruit characteristics. Our Pinotage offers a taste of this land and its legacy with each sip. Serve it at room temperature alongside hearty meals featuring grilled meats or earthy vegetable dishes.
