Description
The Ruffino family has farmed steep Mediterranean terraces near Varigotti for over 500 years, and Punta Crena Lumassina Frizzante 2024 continues this tradition with one of Liguria’s rarest indigenous grapes. Lumassina—named for “lumaca” (snail), referencing the local dish it traditionally accompanies—grows on terraced vineyards within 1,200 meters of the sea at elevations up to 350 meters. Punta Crena Lumassina Frizzante 2024 ferments spontaneously in large neutral oak barrels, with closed-vat fermentation trapping natural carbonation. After two months on the lees, the wine bottles unfined, unfiltered, and without added sulfites.
