Description

Quebrado 2015 is an award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maule Valley region of Chile. Maule has a long winemaking tradition stretching back to the colonial era. Spanish explorers and settlers planted the first vines in the 18th century, craving a taste of home and seeing the potential in the verdant tropical soils. Since then, the art of viticulture has thrived in the Maule Valley with ancient techniques passed down from generation to generation.

In spite of this long legacy of winemaking, however, it was only in the 1990s that the Maule Valley began to attract attention from the larger world of wine connoisseurs. The steadily growing demand for Chilean wine brought an influx of capital and new technologies into the region. The combination of these New World technologies with Old World techniques has resulted in a remarkable blend of ancient and modern, which was honored with abronze medal at the 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

The Quebrado 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon embodies the powerful scents and flavors typical the Maule Valley. On the nose, woody aromas predominate, with scents of cigar box and cedar shavings filling the nostrils. Showing vibrantly on the palate are flavors of berry fruits and olives. Notes of chocolate, tobacco, and herbs all contribute to a smooth, even finish—perfect for lounging on the couch after a long day.
