Description
Vineyards planted in Spain are incredibly lucky — the country is surrounded by water, and these marine influences temper the hot Spanish summer days. Offering even more relief to the grapes used in our Quedarse Tempranillo was the elevation, as our winemaking partners selected vines planted at 2,500 feet above sea level. These 30-year-old vines, which grow in limestone and clay soil, benefited from a stellar 2019 Spanish harvest. Hand-picked during the cool Spanish nights, the grapes were then hand-sorted before fermentation commenced. The wine then aged in 100% new American oak barrels; American oak has a looser grain than French oak, thus imparting a more robust oak profile. Vanilla flavors and aromas are noticeable and combine well with the concentrated flavors and round tannins in this lovely wine. Deep in color and full of fruit-forward notes, this is a bottle perfect for pairing with al fresco dinner parties or a date night with someone special.
