About This Wine
The 2019 Quilt Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a richer, more elevated expression of Joseph Wagner’s Napa Valley Cabernet program, crafted from select vineyard parcels that showcase the valley’s diverse terroirs. Wagner—best known for creating Belle Glos and continuing the Caymus family legacy—built the Quilt label around a simple idea: weaving fruit from multiple Napa appellations into a Cabernet that captures the full tapestry of the valley.
In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet hue and opens with opulent aromas of blackberry preserves, crème de cassis, dark cherry, and cocoa layered with hints of espresso, vanilla bean, and toasted oak. The palate is plush and concentrated, revealing flavors of black currant, boysenberry jam, dark chocolate, and baking spice supported by a velvety structure and polished tannins. Notes of licorice, molasses, and subtle char linger through a long, luxurious finish that balances Napa richness with surprising freshness.
