Description
From granite soils in Saint-Julien-en-Saint-Alban in the Ardèche, Éric Texier Adèle 2023 showcases what Clairette can achieve in the northern Rhône’s cooler reaches. The blend—95% Clairette with 5% Marsanne—comes from organically farmed vines hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed. Fermentation proceeds spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks, followed by six to eight months on fine lees. Éric Texier Adèle 2023 sees no sulfur until a minimal addition at bottling and remains unfined and unfiltered. The wine’s name pays homage to Adèle Blanc-Sec, the heroine of a French comic strip whose surname translates to “White-Dry.”
