Description
This appellation is named after the Rubicone River, which Julius Caesar famously crossed at the start of the Roman Civil War. In Rubicone, Sangiovese reigns supreme. Our winemaking partners who created this beautiful wine are some of the most well-known producers in the world, having been owned and operated by the same family since 1928. Harvest for this vintage was typical, and the fruit was near-perfect, according to the winemakers. The fruit was kept on the skins to maintain structure and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks began about a week following harvest. They crafted wine in a distinctly Old World style. Full-bodied and lush, it features velvety tannins, sweetness from dark fruit flavors, and savory, herbaceous notes. Scroll through the image carousel above to learn more about this wine.
