Many of the best vineyards on earth are influenced by the sea, but very few are as shockingly beautiful as the sloping hillside vineyards of Sicily. The freshness that pervades this Vermentino tastes like a holiday to the Mediterranean. There’s a hint of salty sea-spray and coastal limestone in this fresh white wine that bolsters the rich tree fruit, citrus, and melon flavors. What makes it so refreshing is the high acidity, which was preserved by delicately picking the fruit in the dead of night. The zip of acid makes your mouth water and means that the Sicilian Vermentino will be just as good on its own as it is paired with anything from the sea. Judges love it too! It took home a Silver medal at the Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival.
